Deja Vu?

How many times has it happened that you get flashes from your life in the past? Images of places you've been to, flashing in your mind out of the blue. Today I saw the lane my house in Bombay is in, suddenly! It was so amazing, I was working on a project to be built in China, while I was physically seated in New York and lo! there comes an image of my everyday life that used-to-be in Bombay! Talk globalism of the mind!
I remember being vocal about this before, sometime when it started off, but it constantly occurs and that too brings back memories of possibly not the recent past but of places about 10 years ago. Its incredible how this phenomenon of deja vu is so "spatial" in nature, almost as if my profession has'nt let go of me even here:) I've seen my junior college ( high school), the pav-bhaji stall we ate at after partying at Fire n Ice and even some godforsaken family friends place in Vikhroli, Bombay where I went for Ganpati the last time!
And this isnt just a getting-senti-about-Bombay phenomenon. I am, at heart a City Girl. It's New York I miss when I am anywhere else, it used to be LA I missed when I was anywhere outside it. I dont know if this is the case with everyone, but to me the city I live in, gains importance of magnanimous proportions.
Be it, the commute to school/ work, the people, the fashion, the stores, the weather and even the smells, sights and sounds which just register in a unique way in my mindset and I keep analysing and refurbishing them in my head. The pace, the spirit, the people and the fever they give you is so remarkable in a high-energy city like Bombay and New York.
And among all that, you make your own routine; like a small ball bearing providing its movement to facilitate the running of the big machine....sums up (to site an example of a phrase I learnt in architecture school) to "Ordered Chaos"!
